Gagosian gallery’s New York show of paintings by the German artist Anselm Kiefer, Seal My Ears Shut and I Shall Hear You Still, features work inspired by Kiefer’s reading of Rainer Maria Rilke, the paintings of Caspar David Friedrich, and women in mythology who “connect landscapes with allegorical narratives.” The show has been on view at Gagosian’s West 24th Street gallery since mid-May, and closes this Saturday.
