In a half-trillion-dollar industry filled with polarizing figures, Huda Kattan, founder and C.E.O. of the makeup brand Huda Beauty, has managed to stand out. Huda, of course, is one of the most well-known content creators slash beauty founders in the world, with a namesake business that ranks among Sephora’s bestselling and fastest-growing brands. But in recent years, her outspokenness, paired with her often woefully misinformed political viewpoints, has increasingly jeopardized her business and image. Last summer, as you may recall, Kattan alleged that Israel was responsible for World War I, World War II, and September 11. (Reminder that the State of Israel was established in 1948, more than two years after the end of WWII.)
