First, a post-election scene: My wife and I were taking a sunny afternoon walk through our neighborhood in Los Angeles on Sunday. We strolled along Abbot Kinney, the destination shopping strip in Venice that features all the stores you’d expect to find on a similar street in any affluent blue city: Rag & Bone, Blue Bottle Coffee, Our Place, Aviator Nation, and so on. People were going about their day, sipping matcha, spending their money. We saw those HarrisWalz camo hats on two separate people, both well-styled men with mustaches who, I’ll venture to guess, may not have fired a shotgun in their lives or traveled to an actual swing state to canvas before Election Day. They needed to say something, I guess.
