Last week, there were a flurry of worrisome headlines about Kamala Harris racing to shore up her support among Black men, a demographic that has shifted fractionally but meaningfully toward Donald Trump since 2020. Over the past few days alone, Harris sat for interviews with Al Sharpton, Charlamagne tha God, and Roland Martin, talking up her “opportunity agenda” for men of color. On Saturday, she wore a “Detroit vs. Everybody” t-shirt during a Michigan rally, a jab at Trump, who has disparaged the majority-Black city multiple times during the past few weeks. From there, Harris jetted to Georgia, where she visited two Black churches and made appearances with Usher and Stevie Wonder
