David Ellison’s nepo-fueled asset binge has been, to put it mildly, unsubtle. First, Skydance and our friends at RedBird Capital paid $8 billion for Paramount. Then Paramount Skydance agreed to dole out $7.7 billion over seven years for the rights to broadcast UFC in the U.S. on CBS and P+. And last week, of course, Ellison, RedBird, and a consortium of banks ponied up $110-ish billion to snatch Warner Bros. Discovery from the maws of Netflix.
