Last month, at the annual House Democratic retreat in Northern Virginia, a much-discussed topic wasn’t on the agenda, according to two sources familiar with the conversations: Donald Trump’s threats to tamper with November’s midterm elections. “These issues had never entered the public consciousness,” a senior Democratic aide told me. “Now, it is absolutely in the mainstream and a concern of voters.”
