Peter Thiel is hosting a fundraiser tonight at his palatial Los Angeles home for his longtime de facto chief of staff and protégé, Blake Masters, according to an invitation I obtained. Masters is running for the G.O.P. nomination for the Senate in Arizona, and his campaign is powered in part by the $10 million Thiel injected into his super PAC. Thiel and Clayton Kozniski, a rising star in conservative legal circles,are sponsoring the reception with Pete Wilson, the former California G.O.P. governor, as the special guest. Tickets run from $1,500 to $5,800.
